On October 30th, 2025, SCEMA Membership voted to adopt the SC Qualification System (SCQS).

As apart of FEMA's National Qualification System guidance and requirements, the primary objective of the SCQS is to create a structured and uniform system for qualifying and credentialing emergency management personnel throughout the state. This system ensures that all personnel have the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to perform their duties during emergencies, fostering a more coordinated and efficient statewide response.
